A good budget hotel with sea views, close to local amenities, and nice and quiet. We stayed for two nights and found it to be a really good choice. The price is good and the check-in was smooth. The room was a decent size and included a kettle with tea and coffee. The bathroom was clean and compact, and the water pressure / temperature was great. We didn't have any problems with noise during our stay and the room / communal areas were clean and tidy. They don't do food, but there are plenty of places nearby (we'd recommend Poppy's Bistro round the corner!).

Great location convenient to the beach and a nice room. There are towels available however if you are in the top room there are three flights of stairs to walk up to. There could have been a small cabinet to put clothes into the chairs seem redundant and only a peg with three places to hang clothes however it was quiet and great location to the town.

Lovely cosy, warm, and comfortable hotel. The location is ideal. The beach is across the road and the town centre is a minute's walk around the corner. It's pet friendly and was no bother for our staffy. We booked a double deluxe room with a sea view. The room was very clean and smelt nice. Shabby chic design with a small desk, chair, double bed, and shower en suite. There was also a TV, hairdryer, kettle, and a selection of teas, coffee, and hot chocolate. There was hand wash and shower gel in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and clean. Medium-firm mattress and pillows. The hotel itself was very clean and modern. There is a double door and key fob entrance system. The lady on check-in was perfect. Professional polite and explained everything clearly. The entrance is not suitable for wheelchair users. However, there are only 5 shallow steps up to the main door, and the entrance is very wide. There were ground floor rooms available, but no lift or stair lift. There wasn't a wardrobe in our room. However, there were hangers and several hooks on the wall. There were only 2 pillows set on the bed. Had we checked in earlier, we may have been able to ask for more as the front desk closed at 7 pm - there is an emergency contact number available. The towels were fairly small, and we are both average-sized. Parking is quite expensive. £5.90 for 2 hours on the pay machine, £6.20 for 2 hours on Ringo. There was plenty of parking available, but they were all either max stay of 2 or 4 hours of paid parking and payable between 8 am-6 pm or 9 am-8 pm. So overnight wasn't a problem for parking. You can hear a little traffic outside, so if you're a light sleeper, earplugs might be beneficial. Overall, we had a great night's sleep and were very comfortable and warm. We felt safe, and there was very little disturbance. Our dog loved it, too! Would highly recommend for a few nights away for a couple with or without a pet.

This is a great budget hotel with a 10 star view. The staff are friendly and helpful. They were more than happy to accommodate me and my cat. They were amused at a cat having a holiday! The room was clean and comfortable, the huge window facing the sea was the best feature ever. Fabulous location for the beach. Highly recommended by me and my furry traveller. Thanks Astral Lodge, I had a great stay.

So firstly I can only review the room I was in, I was in a single with sea view, the room it's self was very small but nicely decorated (quirky) and clean with everything I need. I liked it. I did see a different single room with a non sea view which was tiny and dark and a different story. However, my room was really pleasant and the sea view was fantastic, plus the windows were clean enough to enjoy it, which, believe it or not is rare. The bathroom was small but actually really rather nice and modern. It was very quiet, i dont know if that was the time of year or if it is always quiet, i like that. You are very close to the pier, and half way between the old town and the modern part so minutes walk either direction takes you somewhere interesting. The young woman on reception was very friendly and helpful and welcomed you with a smile and a warm hello as you came and went. It is very dog friendly, which is a bonus, and there are no hidden charges for dogs which is great as sometimes the charge for a dog is not much different than the price of the room itself. I went to see the bonfire parade which is a busy time of year fir hastings and the location was ideal, just minutes walk to the bonfire and right next to where the parade started. The receptionist had no problem with me leaving my dog unattended in the room and said she would call me if they barked because of the fireworks (my dogs generally don't give a damn to be fair) Now for the cons... there is no lift, the stairs are very steep and narrow.... the sea view rooms are four floors right up the top, it was a little daunting fie someone with balance issues and an assistance dog, I would suggest that if you have young children, or are elderly or have mobility issues it would NOT be suitable. There is no breakfast or food and drink facilities which is something I missed ( I love a cooked breakfast at a hotel) but, there are plenty of places nearby

I booked a basic double room for a few nights. I was surprised by how many stairs there were to my room, when I got there I was assigned a room on the 3rd floor. (A LOT!), about 66 steps if I counted right. There's no lift, so my knees were killing me after walking up and down that many, and it did discourage me from going back and forth. The room itself was decorated and clean. The bed was large and comfortable. It felt soft, like memory foam. There was no wardrobe but there were hooks and hangers on the wall. I didn't need a wardrobe for the length of my stay. The mini fridge in my room was a super nice addition for keeping things cool. The shower wasn't too good though. It was rather small and I felt claustrophobic. The water also took a long time to get warm and then kept changing temperature. The location of the hotel was convienient, though looked a little rough with next door boarded up with wood and homeless people sleeping on the same road. The pier and town centre was a short walk away. I paid £60 a night on average, which was half the pice of some other hotels in the area that weekend.

We stayed here for the weekend and found it excellent. The room was spacious and was overlooking the sea, so we were sent to sleep by the sound of the waves. The bed was extremely comfortable and helped in giving us amazing nights sleep It appears that this place has recently been refurbished so please ignore any old reviews as it is lovely now

Lovely lady that let us check in after hours as the train made us arrive 8.10pm, very nice quiet hotel with a sea view and a comfy bed. Shower looked nice although didn't use, kettle worked lovely and TV was good but some channels didn't work :) overall lovely for a quick budget stay, with a pleasant receptionist and in a good location
